Braun 9mm Parabellum (more commonly know as the Luger) is a weapon available to you in The Operative: No One Lives Forever. It features a 10 round magazine and a variety of ammunition. It can be fitted with a silencer.

It is chambered for 9x19mm ammunition, has a 10 round magazine capacity, and is the preferred weapon of many H.A.R.M. operatives in the later chapters. Like the Walther P38, it can be fitted with a silencer, but it is slightly louder (even when suppressed), has a lower rate of fire and takes a bit longer to reload. On the other hand, it can use FMJ, Dum-Dum, incendiary, and cyanide-tipped ammunition, the last of which the Walther P38 cannot use.

History[]

The Parabellum (or Luger) was designed by Georg J. Luger in 1898. It was the sidearm of the German officers of the German armed forces during both World War I and World War II. Among Allied forces, the Luger was one of the most prized and coveted spoils of war. Unlike in the game, the Luger originally features a magazine of only 8 rounds (compared to 10 in the game).

Ammunition[]

The Parabellum boasts the following assortment of available ammunition:

  • 9mm Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) with a maximum of 480 rounds (48 clips)
  • 9mm Dum-dum with a maximum of 240 rounds (24 clips), causes critical damage.
  • 9mm Phosphorus with a maximum of 240 rounds (24 clips), does burn damage.
  • 9mm Cyanide with a maximum of 240 rounds (24 clips), does poison damage and decreases accuracy when hit.
