The Union of Burma (aka Burma) was a country located in southern Asia. India was located on the western border of Burma. On the eastern border was Thailand.
Sometime prior to 1968, Mother made an attempt to visit her son, (The Director) in Japan. H.A.R.M. Activities Coordinator Carly Isadora Tehore had "messed up" on the travel arrangements and Mother ended up in Burma instead of Japan. When Carly discovered that Mother planned another visit to Japan, she attempted to "help" make arrangements. Mother refused this help as she didn't want to get stuck in Burma again.
